For food, you have some options; my personal favorite is making puns from her songs for all of the food you serve, like the example photo. Another favorite is color-coding sections of food for each era! Green for Debut, yellow for Fearless, etc. For colors that are a little more difficult to find foods that match, you can pick pre-packaged food, like candy in purple bags for Speak Now or pink starbursts for Lover! You don't have to get many options, just a couple of snacks for each era! We like to make every one a little different for parties, so there's something for everyone. Plus, if you're like me and love for everything to be on theme; you can pack them with finger foods that fit the color scheme of green, gold/yellow, and black! I would do cucumber, broccoli, cheddar and gouda cheese, crackers, hummus, black olives, and chocolate for a little something that's sweet. All of those are usually a hit!

This mocktail recipe is just stunning and so simple and it's actually adaptable if you do want it to be a cocktail, you'll just substitute ginger beer or Sprite for champagne!  Take a look at this fantastic recipe by Polka Dots & Pixie Dust! If you're new to art, you may wonder what contrast is, but to understand contrast, you first need to understand value! The value of a color is determined by how dark or light it is. In the example next to this text, you can easily see the different values of black, going from black to dark gray to light gray, then to white! Understanding value first is essential to understanding contrast, as contrast is the difference between the lightest and darkest values in a piece of art, whether it's a painting, embroidery, etc. Contrast is all about how the different values relate to each other to make up a clear image. Without contrast in a piece, things can look washed out or unreadable. That's why contrast is so important when you're creating art. There are cases when low contrast can be ideal for specific paintings, too, and we'll get into that at the end of this article. The key is to make your contrast decisions intentionally and not accidentally, and we'll show you how!

Using light to medium values and low contrast can be beneficial when you're going for a soft, calm, or subtle feel for a painting! Similarly, when going for a moody or harsh feeling for your art, going with medium to dark values in low contrast will bring those feelings. The example next to this text is by Claude Monet shows in this light, low contrast painting that you can still not only offer a lot of definition but also create stunning works of art. The key to using low contrast in your art is that everything must still be readable. In this Monet example, even when I turn the saturation of the painting down, you can still tell you're looking at a building with water and a cloudy sky. The color helps to bring it all together, but what you're looking at is still very clear! Context and the feeling in a painting are things you should think about before using low contrast in your work. Still, in the cases it is used purposely to show certain feelings, it can be absolutely stunning!

We love this brush cleaner for several reasons. Not only is it a great cleaner, but it does an amazing job of preserving and protecting paint brushes. It can also be used to fix brushes that are bent out of shape, which we'll get into later on in this post! Now, that you have an overview of this wonderful cleaner, let's get into it! All you'll need to get started are dirty brushes, The Masters Brush Cleaner, and a sink or a cup of clean water.

1. Wipe most of the excess paint off of your brushes with a rag or paper towel.
2. Rinse your brush off at a sink or using a cup of clean water.
3. Swirl your brush around on the cleaner puck. Then gently work the cleaner into the brush with your hands.
4. Rinse and repeat until the water coming off of your brush is completely clear.
5. To keep your brushes in tip-top shape, either lay them flat to dry or hang them upside down with a clip from their handle until they are completely dry. This will protect the glue that holds in the hairs from degrading over time​.

This cleaner is absolutely amazing! It is a household staple to be sure. It can do all sorts of amazing things, so if you purchase it for your paintbrushes, you'll be able to use it as a multipurpose cleaner as well! We love it because it breaks down dried paint with ease. That's not the end of it, though, this cleaner is also amazing at getting dry paint out of clothes. Learn more about that here! Take a look at the simple process below.

1. ​Get out your Murphy Oil Soap and a brush with paint dried onto it!
2. Pour enough soap into a cup to fully submerge the hair on your brush.
3. Soak your brush in the soap. We recommend soaking brushes overnight to really break everything down.
4. Take the brush out of the soap and wet the brush at a sink or in a clean cup of water. Take your fingers and work the soap through the hairs. You may need to use your fingernail to get out some of the bigger chunks of paint, but it should come off fairly easily!
5. Rinse your brush out with water thoroughly, at this point your brush should be back to its old fluffy self!

Painting is sure to make the kiddos hungry! We always recommend finger-foods when throwing a painting party. Eating a heavy plate of food with lots of sauces while holding a paint brush in one hand is sure to be a huge mess for everyone involved. Let's avoid that!

Anything mess-free that you can eat a little at a time is going to be the best. Creating a snack tray for the letters in POW, as pictured here, is an adorable way to display a snack that is otherwise super simple. You can also see that the popcorn boxes are a fun pop of color, but there's nothing complicated about serving popcorn!
