seal your artwork to make it last a lifetime

SEALING MOSAICS

If you'll be putting your mosaic artwork outside or putting food items directly on it, you'll want to seal your mosaic to protect it from moisture and to avoid staining.

Step 1: Simply use the provided paintbrush to brush the sealant all over your mosaic, including the front, sides, and back. One coat will be plenty.

Step 2: Wipe off your tiles with a napkin, paper towel, or rag to regain their shine.

Step 3: Rinse your brush out thoroughly so it will be ready for your next project! Give your mosaic sealant 24 hours to fully cure before placing the item outside. Reapply every 6 months if your project will be directly exposed to weather.

See cautions to the right.

SEALING WOOD PROJECTS

Picture
Door hangers, signs, and other wood projects will need to be sealed if they will be placed outdoors.

Simply brush one coat over your entire project with your provided paint brush. This includes the front, back, and sides. Give it about an hour to dry.
If your project has an uneven sheen (areas of shine and areas that are dull), give it another coat to help even out the sheen. Rinse your brush thoroughly with soap and water so it will be ready for your next project! Wait 24 hours for the sealant to fully cure before placing your artwork outside.

CAUTION FOR SEALING MOSAICS AND WOOD PROJECTS
  • Use your sealant within 3 months of purchasing for best results.
  • Close container tightly after each use. Use in temperatures between 40-90 degrees F.
  • Eye irritant: Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged contact with skin. Do not ingest.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Use in well-ventilated areas and with extreme caution.
  • First Aid: In case of contact with eyes, flush thoroughly with water for 15 minutes and get medical attention. In case of contact with skin, flush thoroughly with water. If irritation persists, get medical attention. If ingested, do not induce vomiting. Contact physician immediately.
